Position: Senior Accounting Manager
Location: Sarasota, Florida

Take Care Private Duty Home Health Care is accepting applications for a full-time Senior Accounting Manager, based in the Take Care Home Health Sarasota corporate office. The Senior Accounting Manager is responsible for Take Care’s accounting operations and the management of accounting staff, generating required financial reports, maintaining accounting records and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhancing the accuracy of the companies’ reported financial results, and ensuring that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.  In addition, this position advises and administrates property, liability, and workers’ compensation insurance coverage. For this position, the required education is a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience in accounting field in a managerial role.  Corporate Insurance experience preferred. Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
  • 5 to 7 years experience in accounting/finance field in a managerial role
  • QuickBooks experience required

Required Skills & Knowledge

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
  • Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year end close. Monthly, Quarterly and Year-end preparation of financial statements, workers ‘compensation audits, tax asset, 1099 reporting, journal entries, tangible returns, unclaimed property collection and other regulated reports. Prepare budgets as required.
  • Responds to requests from the Owner/Executive Administrator regarding financial results and special reporting requests
  • Corporate insurance planning, coverage and administration to include: Liability, Property, D & O, Fiduciary, Fidelity and workers’ compensation insurance.
  • Mediation and litigation in the area of collections and employee matters. Conflict resolution or abatement in collections.
  • Supervise, manage and evaluate accounting and transport department personnel. Handle personnel issues relating to staff conflicts, absenteeism, performance issues, etc.
  • Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff.
  • Develop and implement new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
  • Maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures and forms.
  • Participate as member of Take Care’s Leadership Team.
