Elimination Period
The Elimination Period is a period of time specified by the policy in which the client incurs out of pocket expense. Once that length of time has been satisfied, the client’s policy will begin to make payment for services rendered.
For a client this means that if your policy has a thirty-day elimination period, you must pay the first thirty days of care as an out of pocket cost and your insurance company will begin paying for day thirty-one and beyond.
