A state-run, drive-thru only COVID-19 testing site is available at the former Sarasota Kennel Club. The site was created through a partnership with the Florida Division of Emergency Management, the Florida Department of Health, the Florida National Guard, Manatee County. No appointments or prescriptions are necessary, and individuals can receive free testing regardless of residency or symptoms. This testing site is for all age groups.

Both PCR and Rapid Tests: Monday – Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

No appointment required, and anyone can be tested regardless of their symptoms.  Testing is free, PCR and Rapid Antigen tests will be available.

Drive-thru testing for symptomatic or exposed patients are performed Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.  Surgical clearance and “return to work” testing is performed inside from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Please call 941-531-2800 to schedule an appointment for all types of COVID-19 testing.  It is recommended that you create an account on their patient portal here prior to calling to schedule an appointment.

Sarasota Memorial Urgent Care Centers

Patients must first be seen by a provider, who will order the test.  COVID-19 testing is not free.  Patients will be billed for the urgent care visit and the COVID-19 test.  For insured patients, your insurance provider will be billed for these services.  Patients without insurance or who prefer to self-pay can pay the standard urgent care visit fee ($150), along with an additional $100 for the testing and lab processing.  To find a location nearest you click here.

CVS Minute Clinics
The CVS Minute Clinics site charge $0 out-of-pocket cost with insurance or federal program for uninsured.  You must make an appointment, and fill out online screening to determine eligibility for testing.  To find a location nearest you click here.

The Walgreens testing sites do charge a fee, however insurance may cover the cost or you may be eligible to be tested free. You must make an appointment, and fill out online screening. For more information regarding locations click here. 

Quest: Test Given at Select Wal-Marts

Located at select Walmarts through the Pharmacy Drive-Thru window.  You will need a prescription request from your doctor or qualify per the CDC guidelines to get an observed self-collection COVID-19 test at one of the locations.  To learn more click here.  Some out-of-pocket fees might apply based on your insurance.
