Caregivers and Nurses Remain by Clients' Side during Hurricane Idalia
Our thoughts are with those who have been greatly impacted by Hurricane Idalia. This week, yet again, we are grateful for the incredible support the Take Care Team shows to our clients, each other, and also to all those in need.
It was humbling to see our full team come together quickly to take care of our clients and each other as we activated and worked through our Comprehensive Disaster Preparedness plans in recent weeks. Our phrase “Hurricane Heroes” truly fits for all the caregivers who stayed with clients as well as the staff who remained on-call 24/7 throughout the storm.
Here is a snapshot of the difference Take Care private duty caregivers, home nurses, and support staff made through hard work and dedication:
- All of our staff and clients were alerted and notified of the impending storm as we encouraged them to prepare and be as safe as possible.
- Due to everyone's pre-planning, clients on Lockdown or at the designated alternate venue who needed a caregiver had one by their side so that they were properly cared for during the storm.
- Client care continued, through and despite stressful, long, and tiring days.
The focus remained on what matters most - people.
Here at Take Care, we are proud to have an incredible team full of truly amazing people. Our team's support, dedication, and commitment to carrying out all the work that needed to be accomplished is deeply appreciated.
We were excited to thank Amy, one of our RNs in the field, this week at the office. Amy served as Take Care's charge nurse for clients who were transported to a hotel as an alternate safe venue during the hurricane. Take Care Private Duty Home Health Care assisted six clients in evacuating to a hotel where they received support from our caregivers during the storm's impacts in the Sarasota area.
We are proud to thank and honor all the Take Care Private Duty Home Health Care team members who worked tirelessly through Hurricane Idalia.
To our team - Thank you for the work you do, not only in times of emergencies, but every day at each client's home, assisted living facility, hospital, or hotel room throughout Sarasota, Venice and Bradenton.
