We truly appreciate your personal notes but it would mean even more – to the Take Care team and more importantly our entire community – if you can please share Sue’s reminder with your family, friends and co-workers.
Let’s stay focused on social distancing, wearing masks and following all CDC guidelines as vaccinations increase.
The battle against COVID-19 is not over. We’re still in this together.

Stay Resolute, Sarasota, in fighting COVID-19
In response to many recent articles referencing the one-year mark since the coronavirus was first detected locally, it is important to recognize that the battle against COVID-19 continues. Cases, hospitalizations and deaths are declining from the recent all-time highs, and the outlook is hopeful once widespread vaccinations occur. But as we reflect on all that has changed over the past 12 months, I’m writing to ask our local community to stay resolute.
I simply offer a plea to help bring the pandemic to a close. It will take a little more time, but we can do it if we resolve to take care of each other. It’s what our home health care agency has been doing through good times and bad as we help our clients and their families navigate medical emergencies, manage chronic conditions and tackle scary diagnoses – from cancer to COVID-19 – at their home or setting of choice.
The pandemic has brought home health care to the forefront. There are many “business people” getting into the health care industry right now. I am first and foremost a nurse who founded Take
Care in 1995 to help people and provide the best care possible. Therefore we care deeply and understand the fear in so many clients’ voices. We recognize the concern of out-of-state family members who have contacted us to bridge a gap in communication and medical advocacy until they can safely be reunited with their loved ones. It is a stressful, scary time for those who have compromised immune systems – and for all of those who love them.
I hope that by writing this I can help to remind others of the continued threat that the coronavirus poses to many populations – even as life begins to feel more “normal” again. We need to stay vigilant.
It is important to recognize that the battle against COVID-19 continues. We must stay resolute.
In this day and age, health care can be a scary place to work – and today the services needed in our community continue to increase. Due to the pandemic’s economic impact, there are many good people looking for work who have been making the transition to the home health care industry today. We are actively ready to welcome compassionate, honest, dependable individuals as caregivers, nurses and administrative staffers.
So as I offer heartfelt thanks to all of the health care heroes – and especially Take Care’s 500 team members – who have been serving our region over the past year, I also ask everyone in our wonderful community to please remain patient and stay the course. As vaccines become more accessible and inoculations increase, please continue to follow CDC recommendations to stay masked, social distance and avoid large gatherings.
Let’s all remain mindful and exercise the highest level of care and compassion for others as we continue to make smart choices, exercise good judgment and move forward taking care of each other.
