Take Care Celebrates of Caring and Nurses' Week
Locally nurse and family-owned since 1995, we continue to celebrate all healthcare heroes as we mark Take Care's 26th
This week, we’re proud to honor Take Care’s healthcare heroes, the amazing individuals we call our colleagues and friends – and our clients often refer to as “family.” With nearly 500 caregivers, LPNs, RNs, and an administrative and operations team second to none, we’re so pleased to shed a light on the amazing hearts and dedication of our own healthcare heroes.
For many years, we have held special luncheons and other moments of recognition marking National Nurses’ Week, which begins each year on May 6th and ends on May 12th, Florence Nightingale’s birthday. Nurses’ Week is promoted by the American Nurses Association, but we take special ownership of the week Take Care. After all, the profession of nursing is at the heart of all we do as a nurse-founded and care-focused private agency.
It has been awe-inspiring to witness how healthcare industry professionals have met the challenges of the pandemic and continued to serve patients – especially because chronic conditions and other medical emergencies certainly have not ceased. Looking back to our 25th anniversary in May 2020, it’s remarkable to remember the challenges and severity of the early stages of the pandemic, the scarce personal protective equipment (PPE) for medical workers, the fear and uncertainty of the moment.
Months before we had planned to have a wonderful anniversary gathering with our team, something that could not possibly have occurred last spring as COVID-19 began to impact the world and our local community. Of course, we did not hold an anniversary party last year. Instead, every day since the COVID-19 pandemic began (in fact every day since May 1995!), the Take Care team has provided in-home care and companionship to clients. It’s our duty, responsibility, and privilege.
As health care demands of the greater Sarasota community increase and individuals continue to recognize the importance of selecting the highest caliber caregivers and nurses to assist around the house or serve in a professional role as a medical advocate, the need for Take Care services continues to increase. Therefore as we honor the hundreds of healthcare heroes working as part of the Take Care Private Duty Home Health Care and Take Care Advisor family today, we invite those looking for a new fulfilling role to explore job opportunities at Take Care. Finally, we’d also like to use this anniversary week as an opportunity to reflect again about our history. Please learn more by viewing this video with reflections from the Take Care team and our clients.
