Take Care Team Gathers for Summer Company Meeting: Introduces Skills Training Specialist

Yesterday Take Care team members from our Sarasota, Venice, and Manatee offices gathered together at the Sarasota Yacht Club to regroup and recharge.

Sue shared her story of how and why she started Take Care, with a focus on the key values that continue to drive us in our daily care for the work we all do. We were pleased to give each team member a 4x4 card to tack on a bulletin board or keep at their desk to remind us of this meeting and the stories we shared. We hope reflecting upon legacy clients who hold a special place in our hearts helped connect the dots and reminded each department of its important role within Take Care and our clients' lives.

In addition to the internal updates shared by each department, we formally introduced our new "Skills Training Specialist."

This mannequin will be used during orientation to help simulate what caregivers may experience in the home with a client. Take Care's Nursing Department can use the patient mannequin to demonstrate a skill, and then allow new team members the opportunity to practice performing the skill in a simulated way and ask questions. Having a patient mannequin in the office will enhance our safe training environment as we boost each caregiver's comfort and confidence assisting Take Care clients with activities of daily living (ADLs). Evidence proves the use of training mannequins helps to avoid the potential for error in home health care. We had fun meeting "Ms. Dover" officially at the meeting and look forward to her involvement in future orientation programs and trainings.
