When your care level goes beyond the basics of our team of personal care caregivers and medical intervention is a crucial component to your daily routine, a skilled nurse caregiver is recommended. Did your physician add an additional medication to your daily routine? Are you tasked with the need to monitor your blood pressure on the hour, every hour? These are just a few examples of when one would enlist the support of a skilled nurse caregivers.
A skilled nurse clinically can anticipate the needs of a client as they’re backed with the nursing education and knowledge of medications and the disease process. Take Care’s New Services team is available 24/7 to answer any questions and assist you with identifying the level of care that is appropriate to your specific situation and need.
Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) are more broadly defined as skilled nurses. They have the license and education to provide physical and cognitive assessments and report their observations to you, your family, and—if warranted—to your physician. A Skilled Nurse may accompany you to a physician appointment and ensure the physician has up-to-date medical information about you. The Skilled Nurse educates you about the medications you are taking.
Skilled Nurses may administer medications as ordered by the physician or set up the physician-ordered medications. Skilled Nurses are permitted to perform hands-on care and provide socialization by transporting you to diversional activities. While the Skilled Nurse’s primary focus is your physical well being, the nurse may also provide support in other ways such as light housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, and errands.
Our New Services team works with you to customize your care specific to your needs, be it one hour a day of care or 24 hours a day. Call us today to coordinate a courtesy visit.
Take Care’s Registered Nurse Clinical Supervisors (RNCS) oversee and manage all of the caregivers who provide our client’s private duty care.
