30 Years of Caring at Take Care: Denise Stork
As we continue to celebrate Take Care’s 30th anniversary this season, we have enjoyed marking many special moments with our internal team. During our 2025 Holiday Breakfast & Company Meeting, we asked several of our caregivers and home nurses if they would be willing to share a few words about their own story. We were lucky enough that one of our trusted caregivers—who has been part of the team for these incredible four decades—was kind enough to join us and share her reflections during this milestone moment for our collective team.
Special thanks to Denise Stork for sharing her words with our team that morning, and her willingness to share them with our community here!
Good morning, everyone,
I have to admit, standing here today feels a little surreal. Thirty years... three decades. I started working at Take Care when I was 44 years old. (Not you all know how old I am!)
When I first walked through the doors of Take Care Private Duty Home Health Care, I thought I was starting a job. I had no idea I was walking into a purpose, a family, and a lifetime of relationships.
The mission of Take Care has always been about compassionate, personalized care – helping people stay independent, respected, and most of the time in their own homes.
Our clients have taught me more about life, love, patience, and humor. I have laughedwith them, cried with them, prayed with them, and held their hands through moments I will never forget.
To our clients and their families, thank you for welcoming me into your homes and into your lives.
After 30 years, I still wake up grateful to do what I do though I may need a little more coffee than I used to.
Here is to Take Care, to the amazing people I work with, and the people we serve, and to continuingthis beautiful mission together.
